Our "Heckel Type Reed" formation process is divided into two stages. First one is technical crafting (see video) with the use of most precise devises and tools. During the second part of the process our reed dries and goes through several sound tests combined with tuning-by-sculpting to ensure the highest quality sound within the whole scale of the instrument.
Reed hardness is selectable ass well as blade size within the range of 26-29 mm. We use only the specially selected wood from proven plantation based in southern France.
OUR STORY
Only perfectly shaped bassoon reed gives you the opportunity to use the whole scale of your bassoon and perform on the highest artistic level. That is why 4bassoon decided to share our master piece, handcrafted bassoon reeds that serve for several decades in the World's largest concert halls. We do not divide our reeds into training or concerts, students and master. Each reed that leaves our atelier is excellently stabilized and provides highest quality sound in the full scale of bassoon.
We use only the finest wood and materials. Each reed is being processed and tested individually and in accordance to the state of the art on a Heckel Bassoon. 4bassoon reeds are disinfected after production. Order set of five or more and get your basoon reeds packed in a stylish wooden box.
